研究成果	主要從事樹(shù)木年輪學(xué)、氣候?qū)W和生態(tài)學(xué)研究。在我國(guó)西北干旱半干旱地區(qū)開(kāi)展了較為系統(tǒng)的樹(shù)輪學(xué)研究，主要學(xué)術(shù)貢獻(xiàn)如下：1)發(fā)現(xiàn)研究區(qū)樹(shù)輪寬度主要響應(yīng)區(qū)域濕度和水文變化；并結(jié)合觀測(cè)和模擬研究探討了其生物學(xué)機(jī)制；2）重建了黃河上游近1200多年徑流變化，發(fā)現(xiàn)了歷史時(shí)期主要的干旱事件；3）利用樹(shù)輪記錄系統(tǒng)開(kāi)展了PDSI濕度變化重建研究，并點(diǎn)面結(jié)合重建了研究區(qū)近幾百年到近千年的干旱變化歷史；4）開(kāi)展了極端溫度的樹(shù)輪氣候?qū)W研究，重建了黃河源區(qū)的溫度變化，發(fā)現(xiàn)該區(qū)域最高最低溫存在非對(duì)稱變化現(xiàn)象；并探討了森林上線對(duì)氣候變化的響應(yīng)。先后主持五項(xiàng)國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目、一項(xiàng)973項(xiàng)目的課題、一項(xiàng)教育部“新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才支持計(jì)劃”項(xiàng)目、一項(xiàng)教育部博士點(diǎn)基金項(xiàng)目和多項(xiàng)國(guó)際合作項(xiàng)目，參加了多項(xiàng)“973”項(xiàng)目和國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金委重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目等重要科學(xué)研究項(xiàng)目，是國(guó)家基金委“創(chuàng)新群體”先后三期的骨干成員。近年來(lái)在國(guó)內(nèi)外核心刊物上發(fā)表研究論文114篇，其中在SCI收錄的刊物上發(fā)表65篇(第一作者11篇，通訊作者29篇),發(fā)表在一區(qū)和二區(qū)的SCI論文22篇。鑒于上述工作和成果，獲得多項(xiàng)省部級(jí)科技獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)。
