王琳等編著的《酒店英語》根據(jù)目前大學(xué)生的實(shí)際英語水平和專業(yè)需要，從飯店業(yè)管理涉及的各個(gè)方面出發(fā)，以飯店組織管理、餐飲業(yè)、住宿業(yè)、市場(chǎng)營(yíng)銷管理、財(cái)務(wù)信息管理、人力資源開發(fā)策略、飯店危機(jī)管理和飯店發(fā)展前景八大模塊為主題，共計(jì)十六個(gè)單元。每個(gè)單元包括“閱讀”、“模擬寫作”和“幽默小故事”三部分。第一部分為“閱讀”，包括兩篇文章，內(nèi)容編排結(jié)合理論與實(shí)際案例。第一篇文章側(cè)重飯店管理知識(shí)和前沿管理理論的介紹，適于深度閱讀；第二篇文章為相同主題的擴(kuò)充，適于快速閱讀或補(bǔ)充閱讀。每篇文章前面安排有熱身練習(xí)，以激發(fā)學(xué)生的閱讀興趣和相關(guān)知識(shí)；后面安排閱讀理解練習(xí)，以綜合鞏固學(xué)生的飯店管理知識(shí)，旨在從理論和實(shí)踐兩方面提供飯店管理專業(yè)知識(shí)的同時(shí)，提高學(xué)生的英語閱讀和翻譯能力。第二部分為“模擬寫作”，旨在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生參照范例擬寫和翻譯與飯店業(yè)相關(guān)的英語應(yīng)用文的能力；第三部分為“幽默小故事”，旨在營(yíng)造輕松的學(xué)習(xí)氛圍，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的幽默感。
